Use Case

GenAI in Education: Transforming Lesson Planning for Tomorrow’s Teachers

The team explores the feasibility of using AI to enhance pre-service teachers’ (PST) lesson plan writing and improve AI literacy through the development of ‘Plan Master AI’ software. This tool utilizes prompts based on HK EDB curriculum guides, course content, and assessment rubrics, integrating a variety of language learning models (LLMs). Students can upload their lesson plans, and the AI provides feedback and comments on the student’s teaching flows and steps, including features like a comprehensive suggestion history, follow-up question prompts, and tailored learning materials and assignment formats. The current contents are in Chinese text. While the AI can deliver quick, high-quality summaries and suggestions, experienced teachers may still offer more nuanced insights into student learning dynamics. Future development could address limitations such as display constraints and the risk of over reliance on AI, while also expanding the user base to include more students and incorporating multimodal checking features.
