Use Case
Introducing Generative-AI Chatbot Powered by Student-in-the-Loop Knowledge Base to Enrich Teaching and Learning
A knowledge-based GenAI chatbot is created by a team at the School of Engineering to respond to students’ questions and inquiries in a timely manner. The chatbot, which is based on a retrieval-augmented generation model (RAG), provides real-time responses to course-specific queries. Additionally, students using the chatbot are found to be more proactive in asking questions in chatrooms. There is increased visibility of shared responses among students in group projects, and improved accessibility and availability of multimedia content for students’ practical work (i.e., lab sessions).
