Use Case
Empowering Sustainability Learners: Using Generative AI to Deepen Understanding, Critical Thinking and AI literacy
Using GenAI to teach learners of sustainability higher-order analytical skills by critically evaluating AI-generated content in an in-class exercise using chatbots in a guided exploration of the ‘Porter Hypothesis’. Students were guided to identifying case studies supporting the theory using an AI chatbot, then shifted to a critical analysis of whether the chatbot truly supported the Porter Hypothesis or not. This exercise strengthened both the students analytical skills towards the topic at hand (the Porter’s Hypothesis) and AI literacy skills through evaluating the limitations and risks of directly incorporating its outputs.
