Overview
Event: Harnessing AI for Teaching and Learning Excellence at HKU
Date : 3rd and 4th December 2025
Venue : Centennial Campus
TALIC will host a two-day internal event on 3rd and 4th December 2025 to explore how AI is being used to enhance teaching and learning excellence at the University of Hong Kong. We will learn from teachers and students how they make use of AI in their teaching and studies, with a focus on several key themes:

Poster Presentation
The poster presentation will take place during dedicated sessions. The sessions will coincide with coffee breaks, ensuring ample time for all conference attendees to interact with each individual presenter.
Guideline for poster submission:
To submit a poster, please submit an abstract of no more than 400 words via the submission link provided under “Abstract Submission”.

Format
Size
- A0 (841mm in width x 1189 mm in height)
Title and Author(s) Name
- The title should be the same as in the submitted abstract and placed at the top of the poster.
- The characters of the title and author name(s) should be a minimum of 48-point font size.
- The name(s) of the Author(s), School or Department, Faculty, and Institution should also be displayed on the poster.
Individual Presentation (20 minutes)
The individual presentation will consists of a 20-minute presentation focusing on one of the five themes listed above. The presentations will be followed by Q&A. TALIC will provide a facilitator for these sessions.
Abstract (max. 400 words) must include:
- Background/context (e.g. course/programme context, pedagogical rationale)
- Description of initiative or practice
- Evidence of outcomes/effectiveness (if applicable)
Team Presentation (45 minutes)
The team presentation will involve at least two people including the team leader. The team presentation can also be conducted as a discussion forum or panel discussion. Team presentations are facilitated by the team itself. The abstract (max. 400 words) must include:
- Name and affiliation of each team member
- The theme and topics of each presentation to be included
- Background/context (e.g. course/programme context, pedagogical rationale)
- Description of initiative or practice
- Evidence of outcomes/effectiveness (if applicable)
Workshop (90 minutes)
The workshop must be a hand-on event where participants can try out new GenAI approaches in a teaching and/or learning context. The workshops are facilitated by the presenters themselves. The abstract must include:
- Overview of the workshop (e.g. the context, the tech/GenAI tool to be introduced, and objectives)
- Learning outcome(s) of the workshop
- Brief workshop plan, including key activities
