SkillSight: A GenAI Advising Platform for Course-to-Career Mapping

SkillSight is a GenAI-based advising system that takes student-provided input data such as resumes, projects and coursework, to generate job descriptions according to the student’s skills and competency frameworks. SkillSight’s outputs help students have an idea how to strategize according to their skill levels, including easy-to-understand multi-dimensional competency plots, personalized study plans, and plain-language formative explanations. Teachers will have access to dashboards that summarize student skill profiles at the cohort- and individual- level. The project was developed by the GEM Lab at the Faculty of Education, supported by the Teaching and Development grant, with a pilot running on BSc(IM) and BASc(SDS) programme students.
