A Week to
Reflect, Re‑charge,
Re‑imagine, and Re‑connect

Overview

HKU Teaching & Learning Exploration Week 2026, organized by the Teaching and Learning Innovation Centre (TALIC) at HKU, will be held from 2 to 8 December 2026.

Curated as a week to reflect, re‑charge, re‑imagine, and re‑connect, the programme will bring together colleagues across HKU to explore emerging pedagogical ideas, celebrate innovative teaching practices, and strengthen our teaching and learning community.

Across the week, participants will engage in a range of events, including interactive workshops, mini-seminars, and poster showcases, each dedicated to advancing teaching excellence and enriching student learning. The Exploration Week aims to provide a purposeful pause at the end of the semester: a space to review our teaching practices, draw inspiration from peers, and envision new possibilities for teaching and learning at HKU.

We invite all HKU teachers who are eager to share their teaching practices to submit an abstract, which can be for a workshop, seminar or poster presentation. Submissions are not limited to Teaching Development Grant (TDG) project initiatives. We welcome ANY teaching and learning related projects in the areas of e-learning, assessment and feedback, curriculum design and development.

Don’t miss this opportunity to showcase your educational innovations, exchange ideas with colleagues, and contribute to the ongoing development of teaching and learning practices at HKU. Regardless of your chosen presentation format, you just need to submit a presentation title along with an abstract (maximum 400 words) for submission. If you would like to do a seminar or workshop, when submitting your abstract, please indicate your preferred time slot—morning (AM) or afternoon (PM)—for your presentation. While we cannot guarantee specific timings, we will do our best to accommodate your preference.

During the poster showcases, scheduled on 4th December 2026 (12:30pm to 2pm), you will be given 1 minute to give a pitch, and then there will be time for the audience to interact with each individual presenter.
