Redesigning Student Learning Experience in Higher Education (RSLEIHE) Project Award Scheme 2021

HERDSA Hong Kong Branch

HERDSA HK Award Scheme:

Opportunity for Student-Teacher Collaboration/Partnership

Colleagues and students are cordially invited to participate in the Redesigning Student Learning Experience in Higher Education (RSLEIHE) Project Award Scheme 2021, which is initiated by the Higher Education Research and Development Society of Australasia (HERDSA) Hong Kong Branch and co-organised by HKBU, LU, CUHK, HKUST and HKU. The RSLEIHE is a student award scheme aiming to create and share local examples of student-centred, student-initiated, future orientated teaching and learning experiences which can engage and empower students and directly meet their future needs in a meaningful manner. The main theme of this award scheme is Learning in the Era of “New Normal”: Post-Pandemic Learning. Sub-themes are listed on the HERDSA HK website.

The project teams should consist of at least two students (full-time UG or PG students) and one project adviser. Faculty members and professional staff (in student affairs units, residential halls, libraries or IT units, etc.) are encouraged to serve as project advisers or mentors to support students in designing and executing their proposed projects. The projects should be completely executed or implemented between January and June 2021.

Proposal submission is now open until 8 January 2021. The HERDSA HK Executive Committee will shortlist project teams in mid-January 2021 and invite the teams to present their projects in the Symposium on RSLEIHE in late August 2021.

Up to eight awards are open for competition. The winning team will receive HKD 10,000 cash award.

An online briefing session for this award scheme will be held on Friday, 4 December 2020. For details, please visit to the HERDSA HK website https://herdsahk.edublogs.org/. Winning teams’ presentation recordings in 2017 and 2019 are also publicly available.

For inquiries, please contact Dr Peter LAU (pfmlau@hku.hk) at the Centre for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning (CETL), The University of Hong Kong.
